E-GOVERNMENT:
Making Effective Agency Investments
Marriott
at Metro Center, 775 12th Street, NW
Washington, DC
June 19, 2001
Learn
how agencies are managing their IT portfolios, investing in their
applications and infrastructure, and implementing the Information
Technology Management Resources Act.
E-Government
is here. To meet the publics and internal customers expectations
for web-enabled applications, agency portals, secure networks, and
robust networks is a non-trivial task. The GPRA, GPEA, and the ITMRA
require agencies to plan, budget, manage, and report on how they are
re-engineering paper based processes into IT enabled and supported
activities. Because agency program and IT staff are expected to lead
this transformation without significant increases in funding, the
use of best practices from other public sector agencies is essential.
This
seminar provides a business-focused look at how agencies are planning
for the future by aligning IT with programs, building a robust and
flexible infrastructure, and developing business case
funding strategies and investment strategies. Attendees will also
learn about what agency budget officers, OMB staff, and Congressional
Committees think makes a successful IT budget request.
