Sharon Reuter began her career as a publication designer, and the design of magazines and newspapers has been her passion ever since.

Her first design assignment, for the education magazine Early Years, in Darien, Conn., was followed by art director positions at Fairfield County magazine, in Westport, Conn., Telemarketing magazine, in Norwalk, Conn., and the national student newsmagazine Our Weekly Reader, in Middletown, Conn. Later, as art director of PC Tech Journal with Ziff-Davis, Sharon led the publication's design team to win numerous design awards.

Sharon also served as associate art director of the Ziff-Davis’ flagship publication PC Magazine before striking out on her own in 1989.

She designed special issues for Money and People magazines in 1989 and 1990 and, in 1991, she founded Reuter & Associates with her husband and business partner, Bill Reuter. Among her assignments was a redesign of special editorial sections for Government Computer News and two books in the Equus reference series.

Sharon’s elegant eye for type and design has proved the perfect match for upscale publications like Primedia’s thoroughbred magazine Dressage Today and computer journal Communications of the ACM. She has also created special supplements for Baltimore magazine and produced Health & Fitness magazine for Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.

Telecommuting from her Baltimore studio, Sharon served as art director of the Florida monthly Times of the Islands from 1996 to 1999. In 2007, she designed a 20-page prototype for an upscale equine publication. She created a cutting-edge look and logo for the computer science journal Queue and was the monthly magazine’s art director from 2003 to 2009.
